The 4WD Oddlands Rd continues east along the ridgeline to Maymorn Junction. Often sidling the northern face it provides great views down the Ngatiawa valley. This section is much better than that nearer the roadend and can be ridden / driven easily.

Just NW of pt764, the track swings sharply south round a spur. A gravel pile marks the start of a steep, rough old logging track dropping north to the Ngatiawa River.
