From car-park(Franklin Road end)walk 150m on road to find Trailhead on Left, track raises sharply to farm land .Follow marked poles to bush edge cross stile and enter bush. Wide, easy to follow track then climbs steadily though open regrowth to junction with Mangakino Pack Track.
