Climb to the ridgeline then it's down all the way. Follow a distinct footpad and occasional cairn to the treeline where a rock arrow on the ground shows the way. Under open beech, it's a simple descent, once breaking out onto an old scrubby slip, until reaching a flat 200m stroll before dropping to the first terrace. Proceed straight through the overhead ropes course and out to the Lewis Pass Rd (SH7). Cross the bridge (walkway) and you're at the Boyle bus shelter.
The current LINZ topo has this track marked as a poleline (above the treeline, there are occasional markers).
