The historic tramway continues west from Edwin Burn, though from here on is not so well formed and is marshy / waterlogged in places. One further viaduct is passed on the way - at Francis Burn. The tramway ends at the escarpment 1km before the hut and a rough, boggy tramping track runs the last kilometer to the river. The hut sits beside the swingbridge on the riverbank in a large clearing.
