A descent from Sunset Saddle should aim for the western (left) end of Hinapouri Tarn. Negotiate the rocks/scree to the tussock edge then pick up a footpad that leads up to the ridge above and on to the Angelus Hut.

Follow the track to Lake Angelus outlet then head across the tussock towards the saddle on the skyline. As Hinapouri Tarn comes into view, descend, following the track then picking your way across the scree/rocks, to the western end. From here, just pick an agreeable route to the saddle.
