From Coal Creek climb the hill and follow the TA through the forest past Pt580 and on down to the next tussocky section. After brief travel through another bush section a stream is crossed and tussock and the bush edge is followed down to the junction with the Aparima River track.
If you are heading up the Aparima River you can actually save a little bit of time by leaving the track at about CE09 088 282 and heading up the tussocky valley to the southwest to enter the trees and travel through the low saddle southeast of Pt571. Head southwest on the western side of the saddle (the eastern side is swampy) until you hit the Aparima River track.
