A good benched track runs to Moturau Hut from Iris Born Hut via the Iris Burn Valley. Apart from a brief climb over a slip about 2/3 of the way to Moturau the going is flat and fast. A shelter and toilet are passed at Rocky Point - half way between the huts, where there is also a locked DOC workers' hut.
