Take the obvious and signposted turn off from SH63 and drive down the well-maintained road. Gravelly at the end but no worries getting a 2wd vehicle down. The carpark is large and next to the footbridge, shortly after the marked spot to ford the Leatham river if 4WDing up the Branch River. Occasionally, after bad storms, the road gets blocked by forestry slash - best to check with DoC to see if this is the case.
