On the boundry of the private land, a carpark and a signpost mark the start of the 6 foot track. Maungapohatu Access Road is public south of here, and 2WD accessible - but to the north it is private as indicated by multiple fierce signs. . You can drive this far, but no further, and the place has a reputation as ‘a bad spot to leave your vehicle’
