The top of the walkable riverbed of the Pakuratahi River, at a prominent forks 1km from the river source. The ridge to the south provides good access into the Waiorongomai.

There are possible camp spots on terraces between the forks - the last possible camping near the stream until almost Waiorongomia Hut for those heading south.
