Travel along the ridgeline west of pt1896 is simple as far as pt1918. Beyond, the ascent to pt2116 is a manageable scramble but the section between pt2116 and pt2127 is fragmented and may not be a viable route. Simpler travel is attained by dropping into the basin south of pt2116.

From pt1896 follow the ridgeline west to pt1918 and then descend through boulderfields to pass below the obvious bluffs on the SE spur of pt2116. From here simpler travel follows through the moss/lichen and boulderfield flats of the basin to the east face of pt2127. The SE spur of pt2127 can be climbed on it';s eastern face using obvious scree chutes. Once on the spur a straight forward climb.scramble leads to the summit of pt2127 - the high point of the range. An alternative, easier ascent of pt2127 is up the gentle slopes from the south which can be reached via the largest tarn in the basin east of the peak.

Views of the tarns in the head of Stewarts Creek from the summit are spectacular.
