The puffer saddle - pylon track route starts at the Puffer Saddle, just where the track swings NE to descend to Smiths Stream. At first it follows an overgrown logging track along the ridge, before becoming a narrow, cut route through the low scrub.
The route is marked with an assortment of tape, tin lids, bags etc. After following the ridge, it drops onto the eastern face and sidles that through mature bush, before returning to the ridgeline and climbing to pt756. It ends atop a short steep bank dropping to the Pylon Track at pt756.
